WHEEL COVERING

Wheel cores of steel, stainless steel and aluminium are coated with very durable rubber and, if desired, crowned or furnished with the required profile. The rubber compound to be used for the wheels is also dependent of the use and the required rubber characteristics. In the final choice of the rubber quality, the following elements play a part:

• Pressure
• ​Grip
• Type of wear and tear
• Temperature
• Other conditions of use

Also, wheels can be furnished with non-marking rubber to prevent stripes or stains on light-coloured factory floors. BKM Linings has disposal of very durable and highly tear-resistant rubber qualities which are excellently appropriate as tire tread.

PRESS VULCANISATION

At BKM Linings, vulcanising the rubberized wheel cores is predominantly executed by means of compression moulding, whereby the rubber is liquefied by very high pressure and temperature. The high compression forces drive out all air inclusions from the rubber and a very strong and homogenous rubber layer with an almost unbreakable bonding to the steel wheel core is obtained. BKM Linings offers excellent possibilities for rubberizing wheel cores for specific applications.
